One of New Zealand’s export success stories, Zespri had outgrown its headquarters of 23 years in Mount Maunganui which was to be replaced with a new three-story, state of the art facility on the same site. The challenge was to design a building that would showcase Zespri as a world leading company, house 300 staff, and deliver on the company’s community and sustainability values.
Sustainability was a key driver in the design and fitout of the new Zespri headquarters and features installed included occupant sensor lighting, rainwater collection for greywater use and water-efficient plumbing. In addition, specific exterior facades were chosen for more efficient temperature control, and also included solar photovoltaic (PV) array designed and installed by Vector Powersmart.
The new headquarters provides Zespri with a building that delivers on its commitment to being a sustainable and community focused business as it markets premium New Zealand kiwifruit around the world. The Vector Powersmart installed solar photovoltaic (PV) system has become a critical part of the marketing story for Zespri and its drive to increase sustainability in the industry.
